He’s dying, I tell you, dying

Yup, the end is nigh. Taking the piss, my dad bought me some sunflowers and put them next to biggy, who’s pretty much deid. I’ve stopped watering him and I reckon he’s gonna have to go to the binmen soon. Oh dear.

The Sunflower

Well it doesn’t really look so good any more, now that I’m back from holidays. My friend Ruth was to water it, but he hasn’t survived so well, I asked her to come in once while I was away and now I’m thinking that wasn’t enough. Poor Biggy. Anyway, I gave him a good feed and I’ll wait and see… he’s masseeeeef now tho.

I’ll get the holiday blogged sometime.

Biggy at dusk

Look, he’s getting big! Here he is enjoying the evening view out onto the street. To compare with the last picture, the stake is now a double stake, had to tie 2 together.

I’m scared he blooms when I’m away on holiday, gonna have to get someone nice to look after him.

Little-un sacrificed

A tough decision was taken last night. Biggy continues to make great progress, but with Little-un looking a bit morose the decision was taken to sacrifice him for the greater good, i.e. for Biggy… Biggy also now is staked to a proper garden stake, how posh. I bet he misses his Grampian Transport Museum ruler.

R.I.P. Little-un, we shall miss you.

Oh, and I also had a dream last night that Kat was growing a sunflower too, and it was much higher than mine, needing 2 garden stakes tied together. Unfair.

Biggy and Little-un

Time for a wee sunflower update, they’re doing well considering the weather’s been pretty much horrendous, not getting much sun the poor things… At the moment they’re staked to the ruler and the wooden spoon, but they’ve amost outgrown these, and I’m going to stake them up against some proper sticks soon. I might even move Little-un outside so that Biggy gets the pot all to himself, the fatty.

Sunflower update

They’ve sprouted! I’ve moved 2 of them into a bigger pot, hopefully that’ll be ok and they won’t be too close or anything. They look pretty healthy and man do they grow quickly. We also switch them to the back of the house at night, and the front in the morning to make sure they get as much sun as possible.

Sunflowers!

Kat and I are attempting to grow a sunflower in our living room. It probably won’t work but it’ll be fun trying. I planted a few seeds in a yoghurt carton last night, hopefully with a bit of care and attention in a couple of weeks or so I’ll be able to transfer one to a bigger pot…
